Eugene Ng, MD
Dr. Ng is a Johns Hopkins- and Harvard-trained retina surgeon. He specializes in the management of complex retinal diseases, uveitis, and ocular trauma. He also performs cataract and glaucoma procedures.
Dr. Ng is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He graduated from medical school with Honors at The University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at The Wilmer Eye Institute, The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. He also completed advanced training in pediatric retina and uveitis at Children’s Retina Institute in Los Angeles.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Ng was a research fellow in retina at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School in Boston, where he conducted preclinical research on novel drugs for retinal diseases.
Upon completion of all his clinical training, Dr. Ng earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston. He then spent a number of years working in the biotechnology industry in New York and Boston, before returning to clinical practice in Hawaii.
Dr. Ng has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed medical journals, including Nature Reviews, Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology, Retina, and British Journal of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ng was born in Singapore and grew up in Australia. During his spare time, he enjoys surfing and spending time with his dogs.

John Petty, MD
Dr. John Petty earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, and completed his ophthalmology training at the University of Colorado. He went on to practice in Durango, Colorado, for 24 years, where he built lasting relationships with patients and the community. After decades in the mountains, he is now delighted to call the ocean home, trading ski slopes for surf breaks.
Dr. Petty provides a full range of ophthalmic medical and surgical services, with particular expertise in cataract surgery and cosmetic eyelid procedures. He is dedicated to helping patients maintain and restore their vision so they can continue enjoying the activities they love.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Petty is a proud father of three grown children. He has a passion for adventure, whether it’s mountain biking, surfing, or scuba diving, and he finds balance and creativity through music, especially playing the saxophone.

CORINNE BACHER, OD
Dr. Bacher has provided comprehensive eye care in both Canada and the United States. She has served as a board member of the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physicians Society and has cared for military families and retirees of the armed forces—an experience that deepened her commitment to serving diverse communities.
Her clinical services include comprehensive eye exams, myopia control, dry eye management, and advanced contact lens fitting, with a focus on using the latest techniques and technology to achieve the best outcomes. Dr. Bacher is passionate about making each visit a positive experience: she takes the time to listen, explain treatment options clearly, and personalize care for patients of all ages. She is fluent in French and English, and can also provide basic eye exams in Spanish.
Dr. Bacher is an active member of the Hawaii Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, skiing, triathlon training, learning to surf, volunteering with military families, and spending time with her husband and three children. As both a doctor and a parent, she understands the importance of lifelong eye care and enjoys helping families protect and improve their vision.

Jasmine Fujimoto, OD
Dr. Jasmine Fujimoto was born and raised on Oahu. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Hawaii Pacific University, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University, formerly known as Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Fujimoto’s clinical experience includes work at Edmonds Eye Associates in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Fujimoto is dedicated to
helping her patients achieve optimal vision and ocular health, and is committed to providing exceptional care to each and every patient. Her special interests include the treatment and management of cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and low vision.

Oscar Lillo, OD
Dr. Oscar Lillo is an optometry specialist. He graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and has 37 years of diverse optometric experience, practicing full-scope clinical eye care with an emphasis on glaucoma, pre- and post-surgical care, low vision, and medical eye care.
Dr. Lillo’s special interests include the treatment and management of ocular diseases, specialty contact lens care, low vision services, geriatric and pediatric care, and clinically applied ophthalmic optics. Dr. Lillo believes that a patient’s needs are paramount, and he strives to provide precise and compassionate care.

Rachel Kurohara-Slater, OD
Dr. Rachel Slater was born and raised in Hilo. She is happily married to her husband, Corey. Together they have two cats named Winston and Butters. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball and watching Netflix and Hulu. Dr. Slater is well versed in the care of both children and adults, with experience in managing ophthalmic emergencies, providing postoperative care, and performing contact lens fittings.
